About The Dark Side of the Moon 💬
A thriller about the fascinating world of high finance, love, unfulfilled desires and the fact that it is never too late to change your life for the better.
Finance attorney Urs Blank (Moritz Bleibtreu) is the undisputed star in negotiating corporate mergers. Each of his steps is deliberate; there is no room for error in his system. He never lets down his defenses, knowing full well how to take advantage of those of others. Yet despite his success and a good life with his wife Evelyn (Doris Schretzmayer), something is missing. The satisfaction that his work long promised him has given way to a vague sense of unease. And perhaps that is why he feels so drawn to Lucille (Nora von Waldstätten), who opens a whole new world to him with her alternative lifestyle and her unbridled freedom. She seduces him into a trip on hallucinogenic mushrooms - which has consequences. The shrooms take effect and change his personality - first it is almost unnoticeable, but it becomes increasingly clear that Urs is no longer in control. His aggression, which until now he could elegantly hide under the guise of professionalism, now surface unfiltered. The civilized lawyer, who has moved in society like a fish in water, becomes an individual driven by instinct. A volatile killer, who is now up against that same society. Deeply unsettled about his own transformation, Blank retreats into nature and sets out in search of an antidote to the consequences of his trip. Yet because Urs' return to his old life would mean standing in the way of a deal worth billions, his former business partner Pius Ott (Jürgen Prochnow) would prefer to see Urs stay right where he is forever. And so his struggle with his own ego becomes a race for his life.
