About the SPF-18 💬

  • Get lost. Get creative. Get free. Get real. But don't get burned.

When you grow up in LA, real life and the movies can get a little mixed up.

Eighteen-year-old Penny Cooper (Carson Meyer) spent years pining for heartthrob surfer Johnny Sanders Jr. (Noah Centineo) before his father’s tragic death brought them closer together. But now high school is over, and when mysterious country musician Ash Baker (Jackson White) shows up on the beach, Penny is torn.

Sandwiched between her free-spirited cousin Camilla Barnes (Bianca Santos), and self-absorbed mother Linda (Molly Ringwald), Penny turns to her camera for answers, because sometimes things feel more real on video than they do in real life.

Coming of age isn't easy, even in Malibu, where you might spot Pamela Anderson running down the beach or find yourself standing on Keanu Reeves's deck overlooking the Pacific. It's a place where love is crazy and sometimes the only thing left to do is ride the wave. So paddle out, be creative, follow your heart, and don't forget your sunscreen.
