Are we what others see, or are we what we allow others to see? Most likely it is the view of others which delimits our own identity, as a young divorced mother named Julieta (Erica Rivas) convinces herself...

It's a night at home like any other for Julieta, a young mother recently separated from her husband. Her two children are raising hell in the tiny flat when the smallest one suddenly falls and hurts himself. Julia grabs the kids and rushes to the hospital, where help and understanding give way to terrible suspicions.

• DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

The title is what my children say to me when something wrong happens: It's Your Fault.

IT'S YOUR FAULT was inspired by a story I heard one weekend with friends. Through the character in this story, I dared to imagine maternity as something far from the idealized concept of the maternal instinct. I decided to shorten the timeframe of the story to just one night to increase the tension until it became a domestic thriller. What interested me was studying the dark side of my generation: parents without any time, individualists, obsessed with psychoanalysis and consumerism.
